hOW TO USE IT

PRESERVING DRY FOODS

Prevent Weevils & Pests: Add 1 tablespoon of DEE-E per 5-gallon bucket of dry grains or legumes to deter weevils and other storage pests. 

  • Safe Application: Use only on food items that are washed thoroughly with water before cooking. DEE-E doesn’t dissolve or mix into the grain-it simply forms a protective dry layer that pests can’t thrive in. 
  • Dry Storage Required: Ensure that grains or legumes are completely dry before mixing with DEE-E, and store in airtight containers for best results.

Note : DEE-E Should be used only on grains which are washed before cooking (E.g. Rice.) 

  • Quick Application: As soon as a liquid spill (especially oil or grease) happens, apply a thin, even layer of dry DEE-E directly over the affected area. 
  • Let It Work: Allow the powder to sit undisturbed for 2 to 24 hours depending on the size and severity of the stain. 
  • Surface Versatility: Safe for carpets, hardwood floors, and concrete-DEE-E absorbs the mess while preventing stubborn residue. 
  • Clean Up: Once dry, sweep or vacuum away the DEE-E powder. If needed, repeat the process or follow up with a light soap scrub for deeper stains.
  • Mix the Solution: Combine 1 part DEE-E with 5 parts water in a spray bottle or cleaning bucket. 
  • Apply to Surfaces: Spray or spread the mixture over areas needing deep cleaning-perfect for tiles, grout, bath tubs, or counter tops. 
  • Scrub Thoroughly: Use a cloth or paper towel to scrub the mixture into the surface, allowing the abrasive DEE-E particles to work on tough grime. 
  • Rinse Clean: Finish by rinsing the area with fresh water for a spotless shine. 

 

PROTECTING ANIMALS

  • Dust Bath for Chickens: Mix DEE-E into your chickens’ dust bath to help combat lice naturally and effectively. 
  • Pet Bedding Treatment: Lightly sprinkle DEE-E over your pets’ bedding-or even directly onto your furry friends (if approved by your vet)-to deter fleas and ease allergy symptoms. 
  • Coop Maintenance: After cleaning the coop or nesting boxes, spread a thin layer of DEE-E across the bottom before adding new bedding. This helps control mites and lice before they become a problem. 
  •  Create a Potting Mix: Blend dry DEE-E into your potting soil to improve drainage and increase air circulation-ideal for bonsai and hydroponic houseplants.
  • Apply Dry for Pest Control: Lightly sprinkle DEE-E on dry soil surfaces where pests like slugs, Japanese beetles, or aphids may appear. Avoid wet areas, as moisture reduces its effectiveness. 
  • Protect Beneficial Insects: Keep DEE-E away from flowers and pollinator-friendly zones to avoid harming helpful insects like bees. 
  • Refresh After Moisture: If rain or watering dampens the area, reapply DEE-E once the soil dries.
  • Repeat as Needed: For indoor infestations involving pests with exoskeletons-such as spider mites, fungus gnats, or pill bugs -reapply weekly until pests are under control.

Prep the Area: Start by brushing or vacuuming carpets, upholstery, or other infested zones to clear loose dirt and debris. 

  • Apply DEE-E: Lightly sprinkle a thin layer of DEE-E over the cleaned surface. 
  • Wait Period: Allow the powder to sit undisturbed for 4 to 12 hours to maximize effectiveness.
  • Clean-up: Vacuum the area thoroughly to remove DEE-E and dehydrated pests.
  • Repeat Treatment: For persistent infestations, repeat the process once a week for 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Outdoor & Perimeter Use: Sprinkle DEE-E around the exterior of your home or in indoor corners where pests like spiders, ants, and cockroaches commonly appear.                                                                             

    It remains safe for pets and pollinators when used responsibly. Avoid direct contact with flowers to protect bees .

DEODORIZER

Banish funky odours from your fridge with DEE-E. Just pour about half a cup into a small, open container and tuck it inside. Replace it every 1-2 weeks to keep things fresh. 

It’s also a hero in your garbage can-sprinkle a bit at the bottom to neutralize unpleasant smells. 

Shoes need some love too? Remove the insoles, rub DEE-E directly into them, and add a tablespoon to the inside of each shoe. Let it work its magic for12 to 48 hours, then vacuum out any leftover powder. 

DEE-E tackles messy spills like oil and grease with lightning speed. From carpets to driveways, garage floors to hardwood, its ultra ­absorbent diatom particles soak up liquid thoroughly-lifting it away and preventing residue build up. 

HOW TO USE DEE-E FOR GREASY MESSES:

  • Generously sprinkle DEE-E over the spill, creating a thick layer.
  • Let it sit for 2 to 24 hours depending on the spill’s size-longer for larger messes.
  • Sweep up the used DEE-E into a dustpan and discard it. On carpets, break apart clumps first. Vacuum thoroughly once the area is completely dry(dustfrom the vacuum is normal). 
  • If any staining remains, scrub the area with hot, soapy water. For hardwood surfaces, be gentle to avoid scratches-thanks to DEE-E, stains will be much easier to remove.                                                                                                                                  QUICK FIX FOR OIL SPILLS ON FLOORS:    
    • Cover the oily area with a generous layer of DEE-E.
    • Wait 5-10 minutes for absorption.
    • Use a plastic spatula or metal strip to blend the DEE-E with theoil.
    • Sweep the mixture away-easy, mess-free, and no harsh chemicals needed.

     

DEE-E CHIPS

GARDEN & OUTDOOR USE

  • Slug and Insect Barrier: Scatter chips around the base of plants to deter crawling pests like slugs, snails, and ants. The sharp edges damage their exoskeletons. 
  • Soil Amendment: Mix chips into garden soil to improve aeration and water retention. DEE-E is rich in silica, which can benefit plant health.
  • Compost Deodorizer: Toss a handful into compost bins to help absorb odors and moisture. 
  • Pest Control: Place chips in corners, under appliances, or near entry points. While less effective than powder for direct contact, they can still act as a deterrent. 
  • Dehumidifying Agent: Use chips in mesh bags or breathable containers to absorb moisture in closets, basements, or cabinets. 

PET AREAS

  • Odor Control: Put chips in a breathable pouch and place them near litter boxes or pet bedding to help neutralize smells. 
  • Flea Prevention: Chips aren’t ideal for direct flea control, but they can be part of a broader strategy when used alongside powder. 
  • Fridge Freshener: Place a small bowl of chips in the fridge to absorb odors. 
  • Trash Can Liner: Sprinkle chips at the bottom of trash bins to reduce smell and moisture build-up.

OUTDOOR& GARDEN USE

Perimeter Defence: Spread granules around the foundation of your home, garden beds, or patio edges to deter crawling insects like ants, slugs, and earwigs. 

  • Soil Conditioner: Mix into garden soil to improve drainage and aeration. The silica content helps strengthen plant cell walls. 
  • Compost Enhancer: Add a handful to compost piles to reduce odor and absorb excess moisture. 
  • Moisture Absorber: Place granules in breathable containers or mesh bags in damp areas like closets, basements, or under sinks. 
  • Odor Neutralizer: Use in trash bins, near pet areas, or inside shoes to absorb smells naturally. 

PET-FRIENDLY TIPS

  • Litter Box Freshener: Sprinkle a small amount under litter to help control odor. 
  • Pet Bedding: Place granules in a pouch near bedding-not directly on it-to help with moisture and odor control. 
  • Fridge & Pantry: Put granules in a small open container to absorb odors and humidity. 
  • Garage & Shed: Scatter in corners to discourage insect nesting and absorb dampness.
